•           Sigma Phi Epsilon puts philanthropy as one of the cornerstones of our organization. Every year, we host a host an annual Chili Cookoff to raise money for a local charity, participate in numerous other philanthropic activities from organizations around campus, and put in well over a thousand combined community service hours as a chapter.

Over just the last three years, Sigep has raised and donated over $20,000 dollars to Extra Table, an organization that provides cheap, healthy food to local food pantries and shelters, and the Haven House, an AIDS Services Coalition organization in Hattiesburg. In addition, we have come in either first and second place in Chi Omega Songfest, first place in Delta Gamma Anchorsplash twice, first place Alpha Delta Pi's accapella competition, and first place in both Kappa Sig and ATO volleyball tournaments in the last two years.

    Chili Cookoff

Chili Cookoff is Sigep's largest philanthropy event with the 2015 year being the 9th annual. Over 25 teams of both campus organizations and local businesses come out to the event located on USM's campus and cook chili to be freely tasted by all, and judged by a select panel of notable judges. 100% of proceeds go to a local charity with 2015's recipient of $9,000 being Extra Table.
